1. E Working System
A web-based application for complete office automation of the many functions of all the departments / offices is already under active consideration. The system will be designed to provide effective electronic office management system encopassing diverse business requirements like File Management, Document Management, and Knowledge Management. It is also aimed to provide user-friendly interactive interface to accomplish the various tasks related to day-to-day office working.
2. Integration of Networks
For optimization of the IT resources ,especially the backbone network ,Railway Board has been actively planning to develop an unified networking system integrating the existing PRS,FOIS ,Railnet and other isolated ones in zonal set ups. With the implementation of the web based applications already under progress, it will be rather easy for ECoR to dovetail into the planned scheme of the Railway Board.
3. Central Data Warehouse
With the development of independent systems coming up across the Railways as well as at various functional levels, there is a need to go for Data Warehouse connecting to all the zonal Data/EDP Centers. This will not only help in efficient data mining in a centralized manner but also provide a secured repository for data retrieval in case of any emergency. ECoR is conveniently placed to work in this direction with the coming up of the state-of-the-art Data Centre on a centralized server architecture.
4. Campus Network
As the main office building in East Coast Railway will soon be made functional, it has been planned to develop a state-of-the-art campus network linking it with all its satellite offices within and outside the campus at Bhubaneswar. All the authorized users within the domain of the EcoR campus network are expected to get benefit out of the proposed plan. |
